It is New Years day. My Wisconsin girls (minus Rose) and I are playing euchre, drinking tea and espresso (separately, that is) and engaging in the sweet flow of conversation that women engage in on cold days, in coffee shops, in January, in Wisconsin. Somehow, perhaps triggered by the fact that Cedarose and I were only getting one little point at a time in our card game, Cedarose began to tell the most elaborate and amazingly cute version of a children's book..."Little One Step": a story about a group of ducks who are walking through the woods, when the littlest one's feet get tired...
“My legs fell wobbly” whispered the little one.
“Tell you what said the oldest brother. “Have you tried doing One Step?”
“Whats that?" said the little one.
“Watch carefully”said his brother. “Just lift one foot like this and say ‘one’”
“One” said the little one.
“Then put it down in front and say ’step’”
“Step” said the little one.
“then start again with the other foot” said his brother.
(ya'll should check the book out)
...So the title of this blog was born. I am heading south into new lands, to see ancient walls, to smell foreign spices, to place my feet on different earthen floors, to experience colors woven together in magical patterns. My intention is to share my musings, my visions, my story. Enjoy, and be in touch.
